A Mercilud ? What is it ??? It’s an upside down dulcimer !
Contrary to dulcimers with their double lower string, Mercilud have the higher one doubled, an ET.Blues Guitars creation ! It is G tuned (G D G/G) or D tuned (D A D/D). As with dulcimers, fingerboard is diatonic.
Merciluds are equipped with:
- a standard pickup with volume and tone controls or
- a standard pickup coupled with a Piezo sensor with volume, tone and balance control.
- The balance system allows to catch the plate resonance for a more original and roots sound.
